The Story Behind

The Name.

Angel spent 15 years doing structural ironwork on oil pipelines across the American West. The kind of welding where tolerances are measured in thousandths and failure is not an option. He earned four AWS certifications covering every major welding process and built a reputation for work that holds.

Then his son Lucas was born. Lucas was diagnosed with non-verbal autism, and Angel made a decision that would define the next chapter of his life: bring his craft home, build something of his own, and be present for his family in a way that pipeline work never allowed.

Lucas Services LLC was founded in Sandy, Utah, named after the son who inspired it. What began as a one-man shop has grown into a full-service custom metal fabrication operation, but the core has never changed: family-owned, in-house fabrication, and a standard of work that reflects everything Angel learned in the field.

Today, Lucas Services serves luxury homeowners, architects, and general contractors across Utah’s Wasatch Front. Every project is built at our Sandy shop by our own hands. No outsourcing. No shortcuts.

For complex projects that demand both structural precision and architectural vision, Lucas Services works in active partnership with Thom Jakab Architecture + Design, a Salt Lake City-based practice with over a decade of experience designing homes, commercial spaces, and custom residential projects across Utah.

When a client brings a fabrication challenge that requires more than measurements and material, one that involves spatial design, architectural detailing, or integration with a broader construction vision, Angel and Thom collaborate directly. Thom brings the design language and architectural context; Angel brings the fabrication knowledge to make it buildable.

The result is metalwork that doesn’t just fit the space. It was designed for it.
